RealSpeak™ is a text-to-speech engine optimized to enhance a wide range of deployments where high quality speech output is essential. In a WMS the TTS is used for adding voice to the software interfaces.
The VoCon® 3200 Embedded Development System from Nuance is the most widely deployed embedded engines in the world. It is designed to addspeech recognition functionality to a variety of automotive, mobile, and other embedded applications. In a WMS the ASR adds voice to “standard” data collection devices (e.g. laser scanner, PDA keyboard).

Background
vo-CE software is the synthesis of many technological and operative experiences of Itworks. Its engineers have been working with digital systems which can manage voice and video transmitted over IP networks since 2000. Thanks to its strategic partner Videoworks SpA, Itworks has designed and implemented many software solutions both with voice over IP (H.323, SIP) and video over IP (H.323, MPEG’s, MJPEG, WMV) for communications, entertainment, custom architectural systems and public displays. The most useful skills that help the vo-CE® project grow, come from the experience of working with different sound cards and headsets and digital pre-processing of the audio. In 2001-2003 a different field of technological application was explored during the experience in which Itworks acts as the key developer of the Datalogic SpA software used in a new generation of mobile computers. During this project, Itworks had the great chance to know all the problems related to terminal emulations, HTML in mobile devices and the interaction of the application software with mobile computer firmware. Another thing to mention is the competence which Itworks boasts participating in the important projects of SAP deployment in supply chains, collaborating both with ERP consultants and RF system providers, like LXE Italia. This this means knowledge of the warehouse environment and logistic procedures and ability to develop software to be integrated in bigger overall software systems.
